Welcome to my Website
Hi!
I am a teacher and teacher trainer based on the Mediterranean island of Malta, where I've lived since 1993. I'm British (with a Maltese mum) and like to see myself as a European, Mediterraneanised Brit! These days I do most of my work with teachers of English as a Foreign Language (or English for Speakers of Other Languages). Some teachers are just starting out on learning to teach, others are experienced and want some new, fresh ideas and skills. Some teach primary school kids, others teenagers, and some are teachers of adult learners. Some work in mainstream education whilst others are employed by private language teaching organisations. And some do all of these things - but not usually at the same time! Whatever you do, whoever you are, you'll probably have an interest in learning and teaching English (and perhaps other languages too). I hope you find something that is interesting and useful for you. Maybe you're just looking for a teaching idea - you'll find these under Teaching Tips - and if you work in Malta, you'll also find materials specifically written with a Malta background as a change from your normal coursebooks. Or perhaps you're looking for one of the specific training or development courses I'm involved in - you'll find information about these under Courses. These could include TEFL courses (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) or Cambridge ESOL CELTA and DELTA courses. Or perhaps you're a teacher working in a school or teaching institution in an EU country and you're looking for an Erasmus+ course (formerly Grundtvig or Comenius In-Service Training courses.) Or perhaps you'd like to download the powerpoint presentations of one of the talks and workshops I've given, either here in Malta or in your own country. You can also contact me, perhaps with a view to asking me to come to your school or institution in order to lead some workshops. Or maybe you just want to browse (and explore the links), or even to read my blog. This will often contain musings and comments about ideas and issues in language teaching which have made me think or which I'd like to share with you. Whoever you are, whatever you do .....Welcome! |
